[Job Responsibilities]
1. Design and preparation of drawings, BOQ specifications, etc.in the following broad areas:
• IP – MPLS system design, LTE system designs based on railway practice and inter-facing design to signaling equipment.
• OFC network designing and Interface design to signalling equipment/circuits
• Control phone communication network • Emergency Control Communication network with EP
• Radio Communication, wireless communication, LAN, WAN
• Telecom equipment : Communication Based Train Control (CBTC), European Train Control System (ETCS), Global System of Mobile communication -Railways (GSM-r)
• Passenger amenities : PA, Clocks, digital Indicators, Passenger Coach Guidance system etc.
• SCADA, FOIS,
2. Preparation of Design Basis Note
3. Ensuring that designs maximize sustainability outcomes during design phase and over whole life of project.
4. Producing concept and outline design proposals that solve client challenges in the maintenance, renewal, and enhancement of railways.
5. Analysis and calculation for Signaling and Telecommunication components.
6. Site survey for preparation of SIP, Cable route plan, proposed shifting of gears etc.
7. Consult with Consultants and provide continuous feedback on status of project regarding process-related issues.
[Preferred Skills and Abilities]
• Knowledge on preparation of tender documents and BOQ.
• Knowledge on Planning the phasing of Preliminary Design stage to Construction stage work.
• Liaise with the Client to understand their requirements and then design the optimal solution to meet their goals.
• Use engineering and design computer software to complete assigned work (i.e. Autodesk Revit MEP & AutoCAD)
• Ability to notice technical problems that might arise on site between engineering and construction
