Purpose of the Position: This position is with Manufacturing, Technology and Engineering (MT&E) corporate engineering division based in Asia. The role will support all Corning Incorporated divisions and manufacturing facilities in Asia, Indo-Pacific and US. Project assignments will require extensive travel (up to 75％) to Taiwan, South Korea, Vietnam, India, Japan, and US. To be successful in this role, the right candidate must build strong technical linkage within the Corning Technology Community and the different Engineering groups across Asia and in US. He or she must also drive vendors to fabricate automation systems and process equipment to meet Corning specifications and process requirements for manufacturing. Project involved with: Projects focus on implementing robust, cost-effective automation and process equipment for Corning manufacturing locations. Projects also require extensive collaboration with manufacturing, control / measurement / software systems, process engineering, and other related organizations. Day to Day Responsibilities: •Work independently to develop material handling automation, process equipment design concepts and detail mechanisms in response to manufacturing needs, issues, or problems. •Conduct engineering analysis to deliver robust and cost-effective solutions for fixture / gripper design, material handling, process equipment, and process improvement projects. •Provide directions to machine builders, systems integrators, and suppliers on design and fabrication of prototypes, production equipment and material handling automation. Proactively participate in design reviews, check-out, installation, debug, and production start-up.
