At Garmin AOEM, an Audio Design Engineer does far more than just working at a desk. You create, integrate, and refine complete audio solutions. From defining audio system architectures to selecting and evaluating audio components and solutions, you play a key role early in the design phase. You work closely with cross-functional teams to balance performance, cost, and system constraints, ensuring the right audio solution is adopted for each product. You are also deeply involved in hands-on development and validation, working with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, Audio Precision, SoundCheck, ACQUA, and other measurement tools to characterize performance, debug issues, and optimize audio quality. At the system level, you are responsible for overall audio and acoustic performance, including microphone and speaker integration, audio tuning, and ensuring robust behavior under real-world conditions. Through a combination of system-level design insight and data-driven validation, you help deliver reliable, high-quality audio experiences. ◆Responsible for in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) call quality and noise reduction, including acoustic design and DSP tuning. ◆ Perform audio tuning for recording and playback to optimize sound quality and user experience. ◆ Work with audio signal chains, including ADC, DAC, and related system components. ◆ Conduct audio measurements and analysis using tools such as Audio Precision, ACQUA, and Adobe Audition.
